The Village of Georgetown is proud of their fire department. The Department is made up of 24 volunteer fire fighters. Not only does the department protect the Village of Georgetown, they also provide contract service for three surrounding townships. ( Scott, Pleasant and Franklin)

The Georgetown Fire Department continues to grow. In 2003 the department purchased a new $196,000 salvage unit, and added another bay onto their building.

The department received a $65,664.00 FEMA GRANT which was used to purchase and replace badly needed equipment, including SCBA’s, radios and a new thermal imaging camera.
